What does parking lot striping cost in Nebraska?

What does parking lot striping cost in Nebraska?

"How much does parking lot striping cost?" is the first thing almost every property owner asks. The honest answer is that it depends on the lot. That sounds like a dodge, so here is what actually moves the price, in the order it usually matters.

Stall count comes first

Striping is priced around line work. A 30-stall lot at a dentist's office is a couple of hours. A 200-stall retail lot is a full day or more, with more paint, more stalls to walk, and more arrows and hatching in between. When you send an address, the stall count is the first thing I check from the satellite view.

Restripe or new layout

If your lines are faded but still visible, a restripe is the budget option. I paint over the existing layout and bring it back to crisp white or yellow. Nothing gets measured because the measuring was done years ago.

If the lines are gone, the lot was just sealcoated, or it is new construction, the job becomes a layout. Every stall gets measured and snapped before any paint goes down. That takes longer, and it is also the point where you can pick up stalls you did not know you had and get the accessible spaces where the code wants them.

Extras and markings

Each of these adds to the total, and most lots need at least a few:

  • ADA stalls with the blue background, the symbol, and access aisle hatching
  • Fire lanes and curb painting
  • Crosswalks, stop bars, and directional arrows
  • Stencils, from "no parking" to a custom logo

None of them are expensive on their own. They add up on a big lot, which is why the quote lists them line by line.

Pavement condition

A faded but intact layout is quick. A lot with lines worn to nothing, fresh sealcoat, or oil stains where the stalls should be takes more prep and more paint to cover. Cracks and potholes are a separate conversation, and I will tell you if the lot needs repair work before striping is worth it.

Travel from Lincoln

I am based in Lincoln and work anywhere in Nebraska. Travel is priced per mile by distance band. Inside 30 miles it is 75 cents a mile, and it steps up from there. Past 120 miles I quote the trip separately so nobody is surprised.

Day or overnight

Grocery stores, hospitals, and busy retail lots usually get striped after hours so the paint is dry before the first customer pulls in. Overnight work changes the schedule and can change the price, and it is worth it for a lot that cannot close during the day.

Why there is no flat price

Anyone quoting a single lot price sight unseen is guessing. I build an itemized quote from your actual lot, usually from aerial imagery, so there is no waiting on a site visit. You see exactly what you are paying for, with no minimum and nothing hidden in the total.

If you want a real number for your lot, send the address and the services you need, and the quote comes back with every line explained.

Common questions

What drives the cost of parking lot striping?

Stall count, whether it is a restripe or a new layout, extras like ADA stalls and fire lanes, the condition of the pavement, travel distance from Lincoln, and whether the work happens overnight.

Is a restripe cheaper than a new layout?

Yes. A restripe paints over lines that are still visible, so there is no measuring. A new layout starts from bare pavement and takes more time, which is why it costs more.

Why is there no single price per lot?

Two lots with the same stall count can differ on condition, markings, and distance. A quote built from your actual lot is the only honest number, and most are done from aerial imagery without a site visit.
